Johannes Grave is Professor of Modern Art History at the Friedrich Schiller University Jena. He works on the art of Romanticism, early modern painting in Italy and France and questions of visual theory. He was awarded the Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz Prize for his research in 2020.
