Audimax der CAU | Hörsaal D, Christian-Albrechts-Platz 2, 24118 Kiel
For the fifth time, the women of Kiel University will present their work—this year on March 6, 2026, two days before International Women’s Day. From all status groups, from students to professors, and from projects to research, the women of the CAU will showcase themselves and their results at this wonderful event. The following areas will be represented through lectures:
  • English Seminar (Faculty of Philosophy)
  • German Studies Seminar (Faculty of Philosophy)
  • Institute of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology (Faculty of Engineering)
  • Institute of Experimental and Applied Physics (Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences)
  • Institute of Geosciences (Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences)
  • Institute of Computer Science (Faculty of Engineering)
  • Institute of Medical Informatics and Statistics (Faculty of Engineering)
  • Institute of Phytopathology (Faculty of Agricultural and Nutritional Sciences)
  • Institute of Social Sciences (Faculty of Business, Economics, and Social Sciences)
  • Institute of Toxicology and Pharmacology for Natural Scientists (Faculty of Medicine)

  • Max Planck Institute for Evolutionary Biology (Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences)
  • Political Science (Faculty of Philosophy)
  • Walther Schücking Institute for International Law (Faculty of Law)
  • ACM-W Europe
  • Independent Centre for Data Protection

The focus of the day is to give the women of CAU the opportunity to present their work and to show the community the range of interests women have at CAU in different areas. This event also aims to raise awareness about the situation of women at universities, such as the low number of female beginners, the high dropout rates, and the glass ceiling.

All speakers aim not only to inspire their audience with their work but also to motivate schoolgirls to consider studying at university, encourage female students to continue their studies, and show doctoral candidates and postdocs that striving for higher goals is worthwhile. In addition to the lectures, there will be opportunities to network and engage in discussions with the speakers. This may even lead to unexpected collaborations across different disciplines.

The Women’s Lecture Marathon will take place simultaneously in four rooms at the Audimax:

  • Cafeteria: Lecture Hall B
  • Track 1: Lecture Hall C / Online: To be announced
  • Track 2: Lecture Hall D / Online: To be announced
  • Track 3: Lecture Hall E / Online: To be announced

The event is a partner of Science Comes to Town.
