As part of Science Comes To Town (SCTT), the Kiel Research Workshop has developed a special program: on every second-to-last Thursday of the month, the teaching and learning laboratory opens its doors to the public. On Thursday, September 17, 2026, the nawi team invites participants to explore the world of robotics and sensor technology. Adults who are interested in the topic but have not yet ventured into the field will be offered an accessible and playful introduction to sensors and robotics. Program a simple robot yourself—no prior programming experience required—or create your own objects using 3D printing technology. Participants will also learn about sensors, microcontrollers, and actuators, gaining the basic knowledge needed to develop their own projects, such as an automated irrigation system.

Participation is free of charge. However, registration is required, as the number of participants is limited. If too few people register for a session, we reserve the right to cancel or postpone the event at short notice. Registration is available via the Kiel Research Workshop website:
