The exhibition combines art, participatory research and public dialogue formats to create an open space for experience for both those affected and those not affected. Further information on the supporting programme is available on the event page.
On display are new works as well as selected pieces from earlier series and installation works. Through
photographic, painted, graphic and sculptural works, Andrea Geipel translates inner perceptual spaces – such as pain, sensory overload, a sense of time slipping away and withdrawal – into visual landscapes.
A central element is a participatory puzzle artwork: Visitors and online participants share thoughts, images or words about their experience of migraine. Each puzzle piece is artistically processed and becomes part of a collective body of work.
The exhibition is partner of Science Comes to Town.
