How do whales and dolphins communicate underwater? How do ships find their way across the sea? And what actually happens to the plastic that ends up in our oceans?

On 3 and 4 September, you can explore these questions for yourself in exciting workshops aboard the Passpartout in Kiel’s Museum Harbour! The 8.75-metre sailing boat is the expedition vessel of Marine and Wenceslas. The two sailors and reporters from Brest are travelling the world aboard the Passpartout, discovering new places and reporting on their experiences.

During their stop in Kiel, they will also host a microplastics workshop with Dr Mark Lenz from GEOMAR. Here, you can experiment for yourself: investigate how microplastics can be filtered from sand and find out where it comes from, how it enters the sea and what we can do about it.
